Description of cottages
Bee-Eater Cottage
Bee-Eater Cottage got its name after we were invaded in 2002 by bird watchers from throughout the UK after a breeding pair of Bee-Eaters were seen in the nature reserve next to the farm. The cottage became the home of the RSPB volunteers for nearly three months and once the birds had moved on we decided to keep the name and open up the cottage for short breaks.
Downstairs is a large breakfast kitchen, lounge/dining room and bedroom with a double bed. There is also a WC and utility room.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms one with a double bed, one with two singles and one with bunk-beds. There is also a family bathroom, with a bath and shower.
We offer the cottage with self catering facilities and there is everything you need for a long and enjoyable stay.
Outside is where you can really enjoy your location, infront of the house there is a small garden where you can enjoy a BBQ or simply sit out and watch the parkland animals, with the lake in the distance.. There is also a 5 acre grass field just the other side of the fence where many a game of family football or rounders has been undertaken, as well as kite flying, Frisbee and a whole host of other games.
To the rear of the house is an enclosed garden and parking for as many vehicles as you could bring.
Bee Eater cottage is only 25 years old and offers modern facilities in a rural location, be sure to bring good outdoor clothing so as you can make the most of your stay by walking the beautiful farm and if your lucky you’ll be able to experience our wonderful animals close up by taking full benefit of your VIP stay.
